Be A Change 2009 was organized in Design Factory in Otaniemi on 14-15.11. People who are interested in saving the world had a chance to be innovative and collaborate with others by means of social enterprises. The grand jury awarded the most promising business ideas.

The winners were:

1. arecagoodplates: Environmentally friendly design plates made out of fallen areca tree leaves to increase the well being of poor communities and children’s education in India, by:

Sathya Prakash Balasubramaniam, Juhani Janhunen, Boris Friedrich Milkowski, Sami Vänskä and Oleg Kit.

2. Tori: Web service about local organic producers and healthy eating. Connecting like-minded people.

Johanna Fraki & team

3. Help center: A platform to overcome cultural differences for companies, helpers and people who need help.

Jari-Pekka Torssonen

As it seems, AIESEC Tampere positioned to places 1. & 3. We got also relatively big delegation for the seminar (5 people). The seminar was well organized and provided nice platform for innovative ideas. Thanks for all the organizers, grand jury, delegates and everybody involved in Be A Change 2009! Let’s make the change!

Friendly regards,
